Overview

JKosmmune is a clean beauty skincare brand that features mushroom-derived beta-glucan as the main ingredient in their product line. I was able to work with the brand from the ground-up, and was responsible for JKosmmune’s overall branding and identity design.

Identity Design

In developing JKosmmune's brand identity, it was important to focus on their clinical, science-based product development; the mission to promote skin health and wellness; and their commitment to using natural ingredients, with beta-glucan being the key ingredient.

BRAND FEATURES

01. Pure Beta-glucan

All JKosumme products have beta-glucan as the key ingredient: a natural chemical, extracted from mushrooms. This unique ingredient sets apart this brand from its competitors, and is promoted to strengthen and protect the skin.

02. Safe Ingredients

All JKosummne products are free of harmful chemicals that are often found in other cosmetics, such as paraben, ethanol, silicon, and paraffin. By using only natural ingredients instead, the brand features clean and safe-to-use products for every skin type.

03. Technology

JKosmmune uses a patented method to extract their key ingredient Beta-glucan from rare mushrooms without introducing harmful impurities during chemical processing. This technology is emphasized to promote a scientific and clinical brand image.

The logo was carefully designed to capture our love of nature and dedication to creating clean, natural beauty products.

Photography

I planned and art-directed the brand photography, and also hand-modeled for the shots as well.

Print Design

I designed various print materials like product line-up leaflet, sell sheet, executive summary and many more to promote JKosmmune to retailers and wholesalers.

e-Commerce Site

We used Shopify to run the commerce website. Initially, the website was set up using a pre-made theme. Later, we used Shopify plug-in to customize and edit the pages. I occasionally had to edit Liquid (Shopify’s templating language) to make changes to HTML and CSS codes and its content.

Online Marketing

Newsletter

We held various promotions for each season, and I wrote the newsletter content and designed the graphics as well. I’ve also scheduled the newsletters via MailChimp.

Social Media

To drive audience growth and raise brand awareness on social media channels, I designed various contents for Instagram Stories, and planned contents for Instagram Feed.

I collaborated with the marketing manager to create contents for Instagram Stories, and many of its contents were informative beauty and skincare tips.

I also utilized Later, Buffer, and IFTTT for automatic publishing to Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.
